Shae and Beth
An Undeniable Love
Elizabeth and I (Shae) met each other February 19th of 2005. We were out with friends having a good time and not really looking for a love connection that night. They say it always happens when you are not looking and this is certainly the case with us. We instantly connected eyes from across the room and both knew that there was something different and very special about this person just from the initial glance. Our connection was undeniable . We have been inseparable ever since and would not want it any other way.
I gave Elizabeth a ring on May 5th, 2007 asking her to be my life long partner. Knowing that it is not legal to get married in our home state of Georgia we were just going to make it a symbolism of our love to each other. However the more we grew together, shared life together and loved each other more and more with each passing day it became extremely important to us to make our union a legal marriage.
We chose Provincetown , MA after much thought and extensive research and fell instantly in love. Not only was Massachusetts the first state to legalize same-sex marriage but it became a quest of ours to share this wonderful place of Provincetown with all of our family and friends on just how the world should truly be. Provincetown is a landmark that proves there is an existence of places with no hate or judgment for others and accepts love for love. We love P-Town (as the locals call it) because we were able to be 100% ourselves.
We were so thankful that 12 of our closest friends and family were able to travel up to Provincetown , MA from Atlanta , GA.
After being together 6 and ½ years we finally married June 22, 2011 legally in Provincetown , MA in front of our closest friends and family. We are truly blessed and feel ecstatic to continue embarking on our life journey now together as WIVES!!!

Smaller details:
Beths mother is dying with ovarian
cancer and her father passed away July 2010. So my father walked Beth down to
me. As you can see in some of the pictures (in her parents absence) I
created a small frame for her to tie around her bouquet in remembrance of them
on our special day. So they were there with us in spirit. We did a different
type of unity (we combined a white and red wine) and drank from one glass. We
also incorporated Honey into our wedding. Honey is referred several
times in the bible as the sweetness of life, so we dipped our pinkies into
honey and touched it to each others tongue to symbolize our sweet journey of
life that we are about to take with each other.
